Event: Battle Axe

Looking for something to do? Gather friends and go axe throwing! Although I am not very good at throwing axes, I had an amazing time.

Axe throwing is a group game, in which everyone is paired up and throw an axe in attempt to hit the bulls eye as close as possible. Each person gets 5 throws, and then points are calculated to determine the winner.

If you want to check it out, the location we went to is near Yorkdale. You can check out their website at batlgrounds.com and book your next visit online.

During this event, I wanted to capture the flying axes. I ended up using a fast shutter speed (1/1600), but in order to have proper lighting, my ISO was bumped up to almost maximum, which resulted in a bit of grain in the photos. I think I don’t mind this grain/noise too much. Of course, this issue could have been solved by using an external flash set up on the other side of the fence.

P.S. The blur that you see is from the fence from behind which I am shooting.

Amazing experience. Loving the photos!
